Mrs. Reuther, Director of Bands
Kelly Reuther, Director of Bands, is currently in her seventh year as a music faculty member at Lafayette County C-1. She received her Bachelors Degree in Music, as well as a Masters Degree in Education, from Truman State University, located in Kirksville, Missouri. While at Truman, Mrs. Reuther studied clarinet with Dr. Jesse Krebs and was very active in Sigma Alpha Iota, a professional women's music fraternity, where she held the position of president, and their collegiate level music education association, of which she was treasurer.
Before becoming a Husker, Mrs. Reuther served as the assistant director of bands with the St. Clair R-XIII School District for three years. During this time she assisted with high school ensembles, including marching and concert band, directed the 7th/8th grade band and 6th grade band, and taught beginning woodwinds. Reuther also spent one year as an adjunct professor with East Central College, where she taught clarinet.
Mrs. Reuther is a member of the Missouri Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the Missouri State Teachers Association. She enjoys playing clarinet any chance she gets, and has performed with the Manchester Community Band, the East Central College Band, the Meramec Symphonic Band, and the Lexington Wind Symphony.

Mr. Shawn Thompson, Drum Line Coach
I have been playing percussion and drums since I was in 4th grade. I attended Ft. Zumwalt West High School where I was very active in concert band, drum line, and winter drum line. Following High School, I attended Central Methodist University where I majored in Music Education. After college, I started teaching at Santa Fe High School where I teach High School Band, High School Choir, High School Guitar, Music Appreciation, Middle School Band, Middle School Choir and Elementary Band. Since starting teaching at Santa Fe High School, I have also earned my Masters Degree from the University of Central Missouri - Warrensburg in Music Education with an emphasis on conducting.
